World Kindness Day 2018 Challenge

We have teamed up with Kind Snacks for World Kindness Day 2018. Below are ten simple ways to be Kind to yourself and others. Take the challenge to do as many as you’re able and encourage friends, family and more to do the same! Heads up, these little acts are addictive and we suspect you’ll work through them quickly. After that our hope is that you will be inspired to continue and incorporate these little gestures into your everyday living.

If you have children, get them to start practicing everyday kindness. A little goes a long way and children are never too young to learn!


Kindness to Self

  1. End the day by writing down five things that you are grateful for.

  2. Be gentle with yourself, you’re doing the best you can. Cut yourself some slack when you’re feeling overwhelmed. Prioritize the important things and let everything else go (without guilt!).

  3. Leave your phone at home and go for a 15 minute walk. Do this especially on the days that you feel you don’t have the time; often this is when you need it the most.

  4. Say no, when it doesn’t work. Do this without reservation.

  5. Drink more water and nourish your body well.

Kindness to Others

  1. Call and leave a surprise voicemail on a friend’s phone. This unexpected gesture will no doubt mean a lot.

  2. Bring a surprise snack in for your co-workers or for fellow parents of your next playdate.

  3. Pick up a few extra non-perishables during your next grocery order and donate them to the Food Bank.

  4. Hold the door open for a stranger. Make direct eye-contact and smile. Say hello. The world needs more human interaction, never be shy!

  5. Give of your time (offer to watch your friends’ children, volunteer, shovel your neighbour’s driveway).
